Plate
White clay body with clear glossy glaze applied. Decoration near the outer rim of the plate consists of a cobalt blue underglaze transfer image of a snake in the shape of a lyre. Across the top of the head and tail end of the snake runs a banner with the words "Beach Hotel" on it. On the snake are the words "Oak Bay". In the space enclosed by the snake and the banner is the scene of a mountain beyond some water and trees with a cloudy sky in the background. On the bottom of the plate is a crown and the maker's name in blue. Impressed into the clay are the numbers "10.44" and "Patent".
