Description
Photograph
Framed sepia-toned photograph of Ardmore, the first home of Catherine Amelia and George A. McTavish who were married in 1877. The property was located in Saanich. The photograph, taken at a distance from the front of the house on a sunny day, shows part of a one-story house with a veranda in front. The field in front of the house is enclosed by white wood fences. There are numerous trees in full leaf so the season is probably summer or early fall. The frame around the photograph is of dark brown wood, 1.5 cm in width, and has gold-coloured trim on the inner and outer edges. Picture wire is attached to the back of the frame with two screw hooks. The paper which forms the backing is brown and brittle.
