Description
Woman's Petticoat
Pale green silk, trimmed with a pale green silk pleated frill. Hem of the floor-length petticoat rises to the left knee area, where it is decorated with an ivory(?) buckle, before dropping again in a curved line to the floor. There are six panels, a 20 cm centre back opening, and a white silk drawstring at waistline. Pocket lined with stiff cream-coloured fabric is in a seam at the back, below the seat area. Two white silk looped tapes are attached inside the waistline, one at either side. Label inside the centre front of waistline reads: W. Hayford & Sons, Outfitters, Sloane St. S.W.
