Harpoon Gun Model
Three pieces, the first A: is the rectangular piece of planed and brown stained wood used as a platform, sitting on top of the base is a piece of whale bone hand-cut into a tube inserted vertically into a circular collar held in place with small steel screws; to one end of the base is a handmade brass frame with a movable disk of brass, this is to hold up the end of the harpoon; B: the harpoon gun is a hand cut and polished tube of bone sitting on a U-shaped cradle of whale bone on a post that is inserted into the tube on the base, the harpoon gun moves up and down on side bone hinges; C: the harpoon is delicately hand carved with a long shaft with a looped end through which the pointed harpoon is held in place, the four movable side hooks are pinned into place, the harpoon slides into the end of the gun.
