Addressed to Dr. and Mrs. Harry Cooper (the donor) from The Rev. Canon Geo H. Crane-Williams, D.D., 1576 West 57th Ave., Vancouver 14, B.C. states:"My dear friends: The loving cup which as a pleasure for us to give to you, as an earnest of our sincere regard for you, was given to me by Lord Austin of Longbridge. Of the thousand made, as stated on the base of the cup, His Majesty King George VI took 500 for distribution to his peers and other friends, one of whom was Lord Austin under whom I served for three and thirty years. The Cup as designed by Davie (?) Laura Knight R.A. (recently deceased) and her husband designed the Crucifix which is in S. Faith's Church here. The Cup as one of our possessions I most valued and you two, kindly friends are in that same category. (signed) The "Cranes". (the letter is undated) See Collections Documentation file.
