Description
Wine Label
Label notes that this wine is 750 ml. and 10.8% alc./vol.; label also has phrase 'In Vino Veritas' on it. Described by author John Schreiner (in "The World of Canadian Wine") as a best seller; Schreiner remarks that this wine is greenish gold in colour, is dry without being austere, and has a bouquet that recalls apples. Schreiner goes on in "The British Columbia Wine Companion" to note that Gray Monk's 1981 pinot auxerrois won a gold and a silver medal at the first ever Okanagan wine competition in 1982 (in which 47 British Columbia wines competed). Listed in the LDB product catalogue, August 31, 1983 (as Gray Monk Cellars LTD Pinot Auxerrois 1981) under Specialty-Table Wine (Canada-Still White); the sweetness code was 01, and a 750 ml. bottle sold for $6.50.
