Writing in 1984, author John Schreiner notes that Caloa's Royal Red is Canada's largest selling domestic red table wine, at nearly 400,000 gallons a year (cited in "The World of Canadian Wine"). This is a label for a 1 L. bottle. Described on the label as being medium dry and as having 12.5% alc./vol. Listed in the LDB product catalogue for December 30, 1981 under Table Wine (Still Red). The sweetness code was 04; a 1 L. bottle sold for $3.75.
