Description
Wine Label
Made of glossy paper, not the in-expensive brown paper listed in Schreiner's "The British Columbia Wine Companion" as belonging to the early years (1966-1973) of Casabello's labels. Probably indicates a date after 1973 for the label (though Schreiner does not categorically state that no glossy labels were made earlier). Listed in the LCB price lists # 30, October 01, 1968 and # 34, June 01, 1972 (as Casabello Medium Dry Sherry). Listed in # 30 under Canadian Wine; an 80 oz. bottle sold for $3.95 and a 26 oz. bottle sold for $1.50. Listed in # 34 as a Canadian Dessert Wine (Sherry) with a sweetness code of 06; an 80 oz. bottle sold for $3.95 and a 26 oz. bottle for $1.55.
