Description
Woman's Dressing Gown
Embroidered yellow silk, decorated with yellow lace around the neckline, down the front of the bodice, and around the bottom edges of the elbow-length sleeves. Yellow silk grosgrain ribbon ties at the neckline and the waist, and bows at the ends of the sleeves. The gown is floor-length, and closes with fifteen self-covered buttons down the centre front. See condition note. The dressing gown belonged to Mary Jane Helmcken, and was probably part of her trousseau.
