Description
Fish Gaff
Of the type used by trolling fishermen in British Columbia. As the fish was pulled along side the boat it was hit on the top of the head with the gaff (the wood part) to kill it. Then it was brought into the boat by either hooking the gaff (hook part) through its gills and out its mouth or by spearing the fish straight down through the top of the head and out the mouth. Consists of wood handle with indents for fingers with a steel hook screwed and wired on one end.
