One piece black velvet floor length lined evening dress; machine stitched with machine overcastting, some hand sewing; one panel front sleeveless bodice shaped by tucks and pleats over bust-line, tapers into waist and falls into a straight skirt with a shaped and curved lower hemline decorated with black sequin trim; front sweetheart styled neckline is decorated with black sequin trim with a black net insert that incorporates a silver-gold thread design; back 3 panel bodice with a v shaped neckline is shaped by pleats and tucks with a decorative feature of 6 fabric scrolls and sequins at mid-back, the 2 panel skirt falls from a cluster of soft fabric folds into a wide shaped skirt; shoulder fabric is gathered into folds along shoulder seam-line; left side metal zipper opens from the underarm to low waistline; front hemline is shorter then the back which may create a slight train; interior bodice lining pieces provide support for the front bodice shaping; interior label located at back waistline, 'Madame J.
