Dress
Woman's of wine-coloured rayon crepe. Bias cut skirt is slightly flared. A bias cut piece of fabric is draped across the front of the dress, with one point attached near left shoulder, and the other point hanging loose to below the waistline. V-shaped neckline with inset pieces of same fabric on either side of neckline. Tied bow effect at back of neckline, with nine darts below the bow across back of the shoulders. Bodice attaches to the natural waistline with a series of small gathers, two in the front and two in the back. Raglan sleeves are long, with a pleated puff above each elbow. Sleeves end in a lily point decorated with four self-covered buttons on the inside of the wrists, and fasten under the wrists with three snap fasteners. Left side of the dress has a 13 cm opening which closes with three snap fasteners and a hook and eye. Worked belt carrier attached to either side of the dress, but belt is missing. Small fabric label attached to inside right shoulder seam with a metal staple bears the number "7527" in black ink. Label inside back of the neckline: "David Spencer Limited. Strand Wear."
