Description
Dress
Cream-coloured, hand crocheted. Made by Madam Mascaux to be displayed with lace bedset. Her idea was to display her work and donate the proceeds to the French Resistance or to the Royal Canadian Air Force toward the purchase of a Spitfire. The rose and leaf design was conceived in a dream. The size 14 crochet hook used to make the dress and bedset is catalogued as part of the bedset (2001.86.2q). Dress is simple, sleeveless with flounce at shoulder, hips and bottom. Dress and bedset were displayed at the CNE in 1949 and David Spencer Ltd. in 1942.
