White clay body with clear glossy glaze applied. Decoration consists of a mid-brown band immediately below the rim and another, multi-colored band containing geometric shapes below that. A gap in the multicolored band contains the word "Metropolis" in cursive. On the bottom is a green transfer print of a crown above the maker's name. Below this is the word "vitrified". Also on the bottom in red is the number "6" or"9" The piece is thick walled and has a heavy base.
