Coat, Floater

2000.34.1

Name
Coat, Floater
Description
Floater Coat
Small tear on lower right side, from snag such as nail. Evidence of home repair. This Victoria made product was very popular because it was waterproof and provided buoyancy due to the ethafoam lining. The original blue colour was later made illegal as a lifejacket as regulations required brighter orange or red colours for DOT approval. The jacket was a spin-off from hypothermia research conducted at the University of Victoria.
