Below the makers name is branch with a single leaf with one acron suspended below. Scratched into the backplate are the numbers 765/896 and two intials, possibly P.A. The serial number stamped in the clock is 148296. The mechanism is in good working order and encased in an ornate cabinet that sits on two wooden pegs atop the music box base. On the right side interior of the wooden cabinet in pencil is 1818 98. Inside the back door at the top appears Oct 66 -TH. The full unit appears in an 1897 Symphonion catalogue. See document file for further details. All keys are present and stored in the wooden box inside the base. The 1897 catalogue refers to this as a 14 day clock with an 8" silver dial. Can be set to strike every hour or every second hour. Slight scratch on glass. The clock mechanism was made by the Lenzkirch Clock Company possibly about 1868 (serial Number). Symphonion frequently purchased clock mechanisms from Lenzkirch.
