Description
Buttons
One lot of nine buttons for public health nursing uniforms. Three gold-coloured metal ones have the BC Public Health Service crest stamped on the face, and one of these has "Pressed Metal Products Ltd. Vancouver" stamped on the back. These possibly date from 1947 when three gold-coloured buttons were worn on the uniform jacket. The other six buttons are made of plastic; one pair is dark blue, one pair is grey, and the last two are two different sizes of white plastic with a metal loop attached to the back. See copy of 2003.49.34b "History of Provincial Public Health Nursing Uniforms" in information file for this accession. Measurement field refers to diameter of the three metal buttons. The plastic buttons are of varying sizes.
