Description
Tiger Whiskey Bottle
Stoneware; wheel thrown spherical shaped with a narrower base with raised foot, a thin neck and a small raised opening in the top with an upward slanting flange; dark brown coloured overglaze, except for on the foot of the base which is unglazed; on one side of the bottle is raised lettering is, "FEDERAL LAW, FORBIDS SALE OR, RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE, QUART"; glued on one side is an oval shaped piece of thin yellow coloured paper with black coloured machine printed writing and imagery, "WING LEE WAI", two storks and Chinese language writing, beside that is a light tone red coloured rectangular piece of paper with a decorative boarder and Chinese language writing, two rectangular shaped pieces of white coloured paper, one smaller and one longer with black coloured machine printed writing and around the neck and around the flange of the opening is another paper label; on the bottom is, "WING LEE WAI CHINA" running around the outside with Chinese language writing in the center; over the exterior are several areas where white coloured wax (?) has been dripped over the surface.
