Joseph Walmsley was a dairyman who worked in the milk industry initially at 1123 Cordova Street East in Vancouver. In 1915 Walmsley appears at a new location on Oxford Street and in 1916 the East End Dairy, 2469 Oxford Street, first appears in the Vancouver listings of the BC Directories. Walmsley ran the dairy until his death in 1916 when his wife Betsy becomes proprietor and runs the dairy until 1947. For a short period (1930-1939), Leonard Walmsley is associated with the East End Dairy, at referred to as a relief man and dairyman in later directory listings.
