Award for Meritorious Service
Worn on the working uniform centred on the left breast pocket flap, or can be worn on civilian attire. The Province of B.C. recognizes members of independent police services and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who have performed an exemplary service to the citizens of British Columbia. Meritorious service is exemplary performance that enhances the image of police officers in British Columbia. The award recognizes police officers who have clearly demonstrated that they have acted in a manner significantly beyond the standard normally expected. It is presented by the Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia on Police Honours Night at Government House in Victoria.
