Description
Tablecloth
Made of cream-coloured cotton, which appears to have yellowed with age. Cloth has a line of black embroidery along all four edges and black, red, and gold-coloured embroidered figures in the four corners. Two of the figures are Chinese letters, one surrounded by a red embroidered circle. The embroidery for the other two figures, possibly meant to resemble a leaf and a bird, appears to be incomplete. Four pockets to hold the mah-jongg tiles are sewn along each of the four edges. A short strip of black elastic, 1.2 cm wide, and approximately 15 cm in length, sewn on the underside of each of the four corners to hold the cloth to the table. Only one end of each of the four pieces of elastic is sewn to the cloth.
