Rectangular postcard with a colour photograph of the Malaspina Hotel in Nanaimo, BC; back of card is franked in Nanaimo, August 27, 1946; two cent postage stamp applied that has an image of King George VI wearing a military uniform; another two cent stamp is at the bottom beside a '2 cents due' stamp; card is addressed to Mrs. L. Nelson, Margaret Nelson's mother; message is written in pencil and begins 'Dear Mom and Edie' and is signed 'Shirley'; she makes a reference to Margaret in the message; printed text at the top on the back reads 'A Canadian Post Card', and at the side 'Published by the Coast Publishing Co., Vancouver, B.C.'
