Water Pipe
Chinese, made from a white and yellowish metal; constructed with a main base (a), and attached pieces and chains; the base of the pipe is decorated with 2 incised floral designs and inscribed Chinese calligraphy; a tall vertical angled tube with an end cap and a joined vertical section fits into the base; a hinged round cap fits into another section of the base; 2 additional implements fit into holes in the base - one implement, long narrow tweezers have Chinese decorations at the upper end, another implement (b) is a removable tapered hollow tub with funnel type shaping; two metal chains are attached to the pipe - one chain decorated with 5 attached United States silver dimes dating from 1916-1918 is strung from an attachment on the base to an attachment along the vertical angled tube ending at an attachment at the end cap; another chain runs from the vertical angled tube to the top of the tweezers; Chinese maker's marks are punched into the base.
