Commonwealth Games Medals
Three medals and original cedar storage box. The front of all the medals bear the official crown and chain insignia of the Commonwealth Games Federation.The reverse side of each medal features individual designs for the first time in the History of the Commonwealth Games.Gold depicts a wolf from the Coast Salish nation , created by Charles Elliott of the Tsartlip Band;silver shows a wolf from the Nuu-Chah-Nulth nation carved by Art Thompson of the Ditidaht Band; bronze depicts a thunderbird from the Kwagiulth nation, created by Richard Hunt of the Fort Rupert band.All three medals are recessed in blue velvet with a plaque describing each .The medals are displayed in a cedar wood box bearing the ribbon logo of the 15th Commonwealth games and measuring 12/12"long by 6/12"wide by 2/12"high.Each complete set of medals is in a Henry Birks blue cardboard box wrapped with Birks tissue paper; August 18-28,1994.
