Headdress
Orange silk (?) stiffened and formed headdress constructed with a lower band section, cut-out crown section and attached top section with added decorative embellishments; bottom band has two adjustable back ties that are secured to the band with two metal coin-like attachments; crown section has 13 shaped cut-out pieces that extend from lower band vertically and are joined to form a cap shape; uppermost cut-out top section is attached to the top of the middle crown section with two wired interior bamboo pieces for stiffening and support; 5 extensions of stiffened cut-out shapes are attached to the lower band; at the centre front is a half-domed pearl bead star medallion with silver glitter on a spring wire support; 2 sequined shapes are wired on either side of the central star; all over decorations include silver sequins and clusters of pearl beads; white soutache braid outlines and decorates the embellishments and cut-outs; wired small pearl beads and larger pearled glass balls on long supports are located all over the surface; 2 fringed self-fabric streamers attach at back of top section; lining is pink/white flowered cotton; metal and wire extensions from exterior decorations are visible in the interior.
