Stiffened cream silk (?) hat constructed in 2 sections that are shaped and joined together; front section is pleated and attached to a flattened back section which has a small self-fabric covered horizontal bar located above a lower cutout design; hand stitched; central front decoration includes an oval white semiprecious stone encircled with pearl beads, gold sequins and bugle beads in a floral pattern; back section is trimmed with a central mirrored dome surrounded by gold sequins, bugle beads and braid trim; hat edges are trimmed with braid in various styles and designs; top attached decoration includes a blue/white covered wire formed into a bow and scroll with a pale pink puff ball and green and pearl beads; lining is beige linen/cotton with 2 attached interior ties; wire attachments for exterior decorations are visible in the interior; 4 interior labels with Chinese characters include: 3 stamped designs and 1 paper label.
