Description
Flatware Case
Continues dessert flatware; burnished crest in middle of mottled rosewood rectangle. Joined pieces, all cut at right angles. Thin wooden border surround, wider border below to gently tapered. Sides of lid and bottom curve inward, forming double curve. Two brass? slots with holes inset with three screws in middle top. Fit into two squares in lock on bottom, key lock below. Double back hinges with four screws each. Inside middle square blue/purple pad covers over flatware below when closed. Removable flatware tray (990.19.3B, 6 dessert knives and forks - 990.19.3C,D, etc.). Bottom has 6 of each as well, 3 forks on outside each, 6 knives in middle. Wood? support for glued in bottom tray cut to fit tips of flatware so they don't fall out. Fork tops in line with knives, have rectangle support below each set of three on outer sides. Support at base of flatware curves upwards. Base covered with non trimmed green felt.
