One side of box, "The Beautiful Province of British Columbia entered Canada Confederation July 20, 1871"; other side talks about the world's largest, tastiest and most beautiful birthday cake, 25,000 pounds and 26 feet tall; colour photograph of the cake on the back of the box; on the front are two cancelled 15 cent stamps; address on side, from British Columbia to England. B. fold-out pamphlet tells a brief history of B.C., making of the centennial cake and some facts and figures; the greeting is signed by WAC Bennett, Prime Minister of BC; W.K. Kiernan, Minister of Recreation and Travel; L.J. Wallace, General Chairman, '71 Centennial Committee; mentions Indian Chief Dan George cuts the cake; C. is a small piece of the fruit cake cut from the original 1971 Centennial Cake that was showcased at the Lougheed Shoppers Mall, Burnaby, BC.
