Commemorative Box
A-B box with a slide off lid; A: rectangular shape; all pieces are machine cut cedar boards; all edges are painted with a wide black border; all images are based on First Nations designs, hand painted images are in turquoise, red and black; box four sides held together at the seams with glued, the base is glued to the bottom of the walls and protrudes out from the sides .5 cm; B: the lid is one flat piece of cedar with a panel gllued to the underside with the sides grooved to slide onto the box; box exterrior is hand carved on the two ends with an eagle and on one side are crescent and arrow-like shapes, on the fourth side are four red enameled poppy badges with 'We Remember', in the centre is a brass plaque with an inscription about consecarted soild from B. C. taken to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier'; hand carved on the lid is a killer whale; interior is natural cedar.
