Bowl
Earthenware body with buff color opaque glaze applied. Decoration consists of: an on-glaze decal in the center of the well of the bowl. subject is a crowned acorn with the words "Oak Bay/Hotel/Victoria/B.C." within the body of the acorn;a complex decoration around the rim and on the outside wall of the bowl. The outer rim is banded with Cobalt blue on the edge and an opaque green inside the cobalt band. the inner portion of the rim is decorated on-glaze with a thin black lined geometric pattern - parts of which are infilled with turquoise, cobalt blue, or a light green glaze. The same pattern appears on the outside wall of the bowl. Makers name "Wedgewood" is impressed into bottom, as is "3KU" over the letter "J" which is on its side, and the words "Etruria/England". Pattern number is hand applied in maroon color and reads "A4477"? [with a "P." below the last two 7's of the pattern number]. Also in maroon on the bottom is a transfer print of the words "WEDGEWOOD/ETRURIA ENGLAND".
