Provenance
Photo album documenting Nova Scotian couple Leslie and Jean Paige's road trip from Halifax, NS to Prince Rupert, BC using only Canadian Highways. The couple was given an award by the Prince Rupert Public Relations Council in recognition of being the first motorists to complete this challenge.
They left Halifax on July 31, 1946 and arrived in Prince Rupert on August 14, 1946. The medal was awarded on August 17, 1946 at the Prince Rupert Civic Centre Carnival.

To complete the trip, the couple drove a 1935 Dodge (maroon coloured) and an article in the Vancouver Sun reported that: "they experienced only two flat tires and a blowout during the two-week trip. [Chief Petty Officer Leslie Page] said B.C. roads were the worst in Canada" (excerpt from clipping contained in 989.48.2 documenting the journey). Leslie and Jean returned to Halifax by way of American roads.
